Ms Nobomi Dontsa
I started working as a part time laboratory technologist at Desmond Tutu HIV foundation in 2014, then a full-time technologist at the Division of immunology at UCT same year.
I was providing research support using specialized laboratory techniques related to clinical studies, I was also involved in protocol development and validation, running of immunoassays i.e. ELISAs, Elispot. I also completed an MSc in Clinical science and Immunology at the same division. Before joining H3D, I was working at the Hair and Skin research lab where I was involved in translational research projects, in addition to that I was primarily responsible for maintaining the tissue culture and histology laboratories. I have experience in primary tissue and cell culture, DNA and RNA extraction, data handling, analysis, presentation and report writing. I recently joined H3D taking a role of a Senior research scientist in the Parasitology group where I will be responsible for running assays and data handling.
