Dr Devasha Redhi

Post Doc I NSG Mouse Model for Malaria

Devasha received her doctorate in Clinical Pharmacology from the University of Cape Town in 2020, after upgrading her MSc to a PhD.  Her thesis evaluated the pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic properties of a novel series of antimalarial compounds and their metabolites.  She was awarded the National Research Foundation Scarce Skills Scholarship for her master’s and doctoral degrees.

Devasha then joined H3D in 2021 as a postdoctoral fellow.  Her research investigated repurposing an anticancer kinase inhibitor for use in malaria treatment through a human dose prediction study.  In 2024, she was appointed as a Junior Research Fellow in pharmacometrics, and funding for this post was received from the Developing Emerging Academic Leaders (DEAL) programme through the Carnegie Foundation of New York.  Her current research focuses on using modeling techniques such as nonlinear mixed effects modeling and physiologically based pharmacokinetic modeling (PBPK) to facilitate drug development programmes for malaria and tuberculosis.
