Dr Sandeep Ghorpade

Dr. Sandeep Ghorpade is a medicinal chemist by training with several years of drug discovery experience in industry and academia. Before joining H3D in September 2014, he worked at AstraZeneca, India, for nine years. Dr. Ghorpade’s research focuses on tuberculosis and antimicrobial drug discovery, with lead generation and optimization expertise. He has published several research articles showcasing the case studies of TB drug discovery projects on DprE1, Gyrase B, MmpL3, HadAB inhibitors, and a few phenotypic actives. Dr. Ghorpade works closely with several international groups in the TB Drug Accelerator consortium and beyond to enable the discovery of new TB drug candidates from H3D.  Since 2022, he has led H3D’s antimicrobial drug discovery projects in collaboration with Johnson and Johnson and other partners. As a Head of Drug Discovery, Dr. Ghorpade provides line management and mentorship support to all H3D’s discovery platform leads.
