Dr Lloyd Chetty

Post Doc I Malaria Chemistry

Lloyd received his BSc degree in Applied chemistry (2016) and his BSc (Hons) degree in Chemistry (2017). He completed his MSc (2019) and PhD (2024) at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, where he conducted research within the catalysis and peptide research unit. His research focused on utilising supercritical carbon dioxide for the carboxylation of aromatic compounds, exploring green solvents and solvent-free conditions in asymmetric organocatalytic reactions, and investigating green oxidation systems to synthesise quinones.  Lloyd then joined Prof Fernando Albericio as a postdoc working on synthesising C-terminal peptide protecting groups. In September of 2024, Lloyd joined H3D as a postdoctoral research fellow and is working with the BMGF malaria program.
