As part of its 150th anniversary, the American Chemical Society (ACS) is convening a global series of eight symposia across eight countries. South Africa’s inclusion — with the University of Cape Town as host — reflects both the strength of the local scientific community and the growing contribution of African research to the global chemistry and biomedical research landscape.

The symposium, themed “Molecules to Medicine: Advancing Health Innovation in Africa,” will take place on 10–11 September 2026.

We are pleased to share that registration for the ACS150 JACS Symposium in South Africa is now live! Attendance at the symposium is free and there are no registration fees.
