Ms Nicolene Coertze

Nicolene is a South African Veterinary Council registered veterinary nurse.

She obtained her veterinary nursing diploma from the University of Pretoria in 2010 before completing a degree in microbiology and zoology through UNISA in 2018. Her work experience range across different veterinary fields in South Africa such as welfare organisations and private veterinary practices. She spent some years in Abu Dhabi as a veterinary nurse for a large falcon research and breeding centre.

She is currently overseeing all H3D animal related work for DMPK and NSG malaria projects. She is involved in the animal work, facility operations and the implementation of the different administrative (governmental and institutionary) requirements imposed on a research animal lab. 

She joined the H3D team in 2019 as the Pre-clinical Pharmacology Animal Facility Manager.
